Our Adamson Alumni Association members are indispensable when it comes to our Annual All-Class Reunion and Charity Golf Tournament. 2013’s events found volunteers setting up welcoming tables, greeting and registering visitors, taking photographs, selling Alumni t-shirts, preparing the lunchroom on Saturday, serving lunch, and helping with the after-lunch program. Our volunteers also assisted members with special needs in getting from their cars into the building. In short, they did whatever necessary to serve others and make the day an enjoyable experience for everyone.
In 2012 and 2013, the Alumni Association donated funds to help with the school’s outreach to area families during the Christmas season. Board Members and other volunteers worked during the program, setting up and decorating tables, wrapping gifts, and assisting with gift distribution to wide-eyed children. We hope this will be an annual event–one that rewards all of us during this special time of year.
What Else Can Volunteers Do?
Special occasions arise throughout the year where Adamson Alumni Association members can speak to students and share their own life experiences on particular topics as requested by the faculty, e.g., firsthand memories relating to President Kennedy’s assassination on November 22, 1963.
